Momma Needs Her Washer

As a mom of four, I'm highly dependent on my washing machine.

So when it started beeping and flashing and generally freaking out on me last week, I had a bit of a panic attack.

And when I called the repair people and they told me it would be six more days before they could get over to look at it, I had a minor panic attack.

And when the repair guy told me today that, not only would it be another $190 to fix the machine, it would be another week before the machine was fixed, I officially freaked out.

So, now that the Xanax is kicking in and the wine is chilling in the fridge, I am sitting here wondering - how did our ancestors do it?!?!  They had easily a half dozen kids to manage along with a household of linens.  How did they do it without a machine to do the washing for them??  Forget it - I don't want to know....

So now, I'm on my way out the door to my lovely and generous in-laws to take over their machine for a few hours so that I don't have to make the kids turn their underwear inside out tomorrow (again).

  1. Oh my. I only have two kids and I freaked out when our washer died a few years back. I'm thankful we're spoiled with our appliances. Just think back then they had all that free time from the Internet to hand wash & line dry. Ugh the thought!

  2. Oh you poor thing! That is just horrible! Well, I know what i can be praying for you about! By the way- I'm your Bible in 90Days Mentor! You will be receiving an "official" e-mail me very soon, but I just couldn't help but comment! OH- AND- your blog is BEAUTIFUL!! Where did you get the design?
